I answered this for someone recently so I'll just copy and paste my response from there: It's an off-topic forum where Jalopnik commenters can talk about whatever they want. There is lots of randomness [some of it not related to cars] as well as more serious posts about cars. As you've probably noticed, a fair amount of content that goes on Jalopnik comes from here so there is usually something interesting to read and talk about.
